Chun Tae-Il
Chun Tae-Il: a Flame that lives on
Synopsis:
When Taeil gets hired as a tailor’s assistant at Pyeonghwa Market, he dreams of becoming a full-fledged tailor one day to be able to financially support his family and put his brothers and sisters through school.
But when his hard work finally earns him the tailor position he had been yearning for, he finds himself constantly reminded of the faces of the young female labourers who were slaving off for pay that amounted to no less than a cup of coffee and vomiting blood from the dire working conditions they were placed in.
Realising no change could come just from kindness, the young 22-year-old Taeil decides to confront a reality where the ‘Labor Standards Act’ was not being enforced and become the flame of hope himself.
